STUDENT VISA IN USA

The United States Government provides three kinds of student visa- like F,J and M.

  • F student visa-For studying in accredited US University or college. You can also apply this type of visa for studying English.
  • J Exchange visa- It is required for participation in the exchange program including university and high school study.
  • M Student visa- It is applied for non-academic or vocational training or study in United States.
  • Before applying for these kinds of visas, you must first apply and must be accepted by US. Institution certified by Student Exchange and visitor Program.
  • If you are applying for US student visa then the following documents are required- Valid passport valid for minimum six months beyond the stay period in the US, acceptance at SEVP approved school and form I-20, application fee payment for SEVIS, non-immigrant visa application and form DS-160 and photograph in requested format.
  • Other additional documents are- Academic preparation documents like diplomas, transcripts, degree or certificates, Evidence of adequate funds for maintaining living expenses like bank statements, scholarship program and financial undertaking that cover your living costs and accommodation.
  • You can also apply for visa online using consulates and US Embassy. The application must be applied upto 120 days before the start of program.
